Terms of Use

Freewheel suggests destinations and routes for recreation — a spin of the wheel, a place to ride to, a trail to remember. Using the app means you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the app.

The service

Freewheel is provided by Motion Story (motionstory.com.au). It offers ride suggestions, routes, maps and sharing tools for cyclists and other explorers, plus tools for rental operators to publish tours.

You ride at your own risk

• Your safety is your responsibility. Cycling and outdoor activities carry inherent risks, including injury. You're responsible for your own safety and for anyone riding with you.
• You judge the conditions. Routes are suggestions, not instructions. Roads, paths, weather and traffic change — assess them yourself and take a different way whenever you judge it safer. Conditions on the ground beat anything the app says.
• You follow the law. Obey local road rules, wear a helmet where required, and don't use the app in a way that distracts you while riding. Check your phone when stopped.
• Freewheel isn't your guide. We don't inspect routes or locations, and we're not responsible for the condition of any road, path or place the app suggests, or for the acts of any rental shop or other business.

Third-party map data

Destinations, opening hours and routes come from third-party map data and may be closed, changed, or inaccessible. Verify anything that matters before relying on it.

Rental shops and operators

Shop-branded versions of Freewheel are sponsored by the named rental shop. Any agreement with the shop that hired you your bike — including rental terms, deposits and damage — is between you and them. Operators who publish tours are responsible for the accuracy of what they publish and for having the right to use any name, logo or photo they upload.

Operator subscriptions

Operator features are offered by subscription, billed outside the app. Subscription terms, pricing and cancellation are presented at the point of purchase.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service. Scraping, spam sharing, reverse engineering, or interfering with other users or the backend may result in suspension of access.

Your content

Trails, photos and tours you create are yours. By sharing or publishing them through Freewheel you give us the licence needed to display and deliver them to the people you share them with — nothing more.

Service provided as-is

The service is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. To that same extent, the operator is not liable for events on your adventure or for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

Changes

If these terms change materially we'll update the effective date above and note the change in the app. Continued use after a change means the updated terms apply.
