A Komoot alternative, for your own weekend, is another route planner. Plenty of them will draw a line, show the hill and hand you a file. That is a fair thing to want. You might be here for a different reason. You run a shop. The person in front of you rented a bike an hour ago. They are not going to download Komoot, make an account and buy a region map while you are holding their card. If you want Komoot, or a free Komoot, for your own weekend, this product will disappoint you. It does not try to be a worldwide library of other people's tours. What Komoot is doing It helps a cyclist discover a ride, follow it, and keep a record. The app is the point. Offline maps are a large part of why people pay for it, or look for a free version that still works in the hills. The embed and the share link are built for that rider to send a friend. Your guest is not that rider. They do not want a new account, a region pack, or a tour a stranger drew in the same valley. They want the loop your staff already recommends, with the bakery on it, finished before the bike is due back. What to hand them A QR code on the counter. Your tours on their phone, your colour, your photos, your waiver on the same scan. No Komoot account. On the Starter plan the tour they open before leaving stays with them when the signal goes. The comparison with the other app shops paste onto their website, Ride with GPS, is here. How the two athlete apps differ from each other, and why neither is the handover, is Komoot vs Ride with GPS. Draw the loop you are tired of explaining out loud. That is the one worth putting on the counter first.
